Bockstein is a small and friendly village with a few hotels, bars restaurants and shops. There is also a museum displaying artifacts from it's gold mining history. The local buses run regularly all year round along the valley and are free during the ski season with a lift pass. Bad Gastein is a short bus or taxi ride away and is more lively with many bars, night clubs and restaurants. There is plenty to do in both winter and summer.
